City of Talents

How the visit takes place

The City of Talents is a space in the center of Cuneo, within the Rondo dei Talenti, where boys and girls experience a pathway that helps them recognize their interests and abilities, through individual and group play and creative activities.
The City of Talents is a space designed and structured to suit boys and girls, boys and girls aged 7 to 13. It offers them opportunities and resources to develop greater awareness of themselves and their abilities and to gather useful information to learn about the world of professions around them. The visit can be preceded or followed by specific actions and orientation paths in the area, aimed at the children and youth themselves, their parents and/or teachers.

1

Reception

The groups are met, on the ground floor of the Talent Rondo, and escorted to the entrance of the City, where a space has been set up to leave their backpacks and jackets.
At this point, the groups are ready to begin the visit guided by an orienteer/orientator and accompanied by their teachers or parents. In the middle of the visit, space and time is provided for a snack.

2

Beginning of visit

On the third floor each child receives the Explorer’s Kit and ticket (badge) to carry out the activities.
Participants are divided into two groups that alternately conduct activities at the Studios and the City Center.

3

Cinema space

It is the place where boys and girls are welcomed, the place where they receive the useful tools to begin the experiential journey.

Here a Talent coach explains to them what are the 3 important elements they need to set out on the mysterious journey of self-discovery and to carry out the activities together with the orienters and guidance counselors.

4

Neighborhood of professions

Each child/children can explore some occupations in depth through a cooperative activity, discovering the important elements and taking home a method of exploration. At the end of the activity, children can compare with each other to find out what skills each person has, try to say for themselves and others “what am I good at?” and try to see what others see me good at.

5

Center

The boys and girls have the opportunity through digital and analog games to explore their interests, skills and talents.

The proposed activities allow them to experiment on two skills for different areas: motor sports, language/communication, logistics/organizational/visual, technical/logical, scientific/naturalistic, creative/manual, and social/relational.

6

Conclusion

Moment of sharing and final discussion in which participants reflect on “what do I put on the line about myself for others?”

The City offers a space designated for the consumption of packed lunch.
