Talents Without Borders: Exploring and discovering the talents of young people
A training programme designed for teachers, guidance counsellors, and educators from abroad who wish to deepen their understanding of education for talent development. The Summer School explores key guidance theories, builds on the ten years of experience of the Città dei Talenti, and presents the approach developed within the Erasmus+ GearUP! project. Through the contribution of the project partners, it offers both individual and group-based methodologies aimed at strengthening educational competences and supporting the crucial role of guiding young people in their educational and personal choices.
The programme is organised by CFP Cemon in collaboration with the partners of the Erasmus+ GearUP!

ore 14:00 – 15:30 From theory to guidance practice for the progressive discovery of young people’s talents
Starting from the earliest career guidance theories, initially focused on matching individual traits with educational or professional pathways, the evolution of these models has led to ADVP and career education approaches. These perspectives understand guidance as a continuous educational process aimed at developing decision-making competences over time, while also integrating Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences to recognise and value the diverse forms of talent and potential in young people.

ore 16:00 – 18:00 Self‑knowledge and knowledge of professions
In the guidance process, self-understanding and the exploration of different professions are essential steps in helping young people recognise their resources and talents, in relation to the evolving world of work and their personal development. Practical exercises will be proposed, focusing on self-awareness and the exploration of professions, so that future participants can learn to actively reflect on their interests, competences, and possible career paths.

The Videolibrary offers students direct insight into different professions through video testimonials, fostering a deeper understanding of career pathways and a tangible connection with the local area and community. TSpaces are dedicated areas for Talent Places, where young people can imagine, find inspiration, and take part in activities designed to help them discover their interests and aptitudes. All GearUP! tools are designed to engage the community surrounding students, making it an active part of the guidance process.

The interview with an external guest, conducted following the Videolibrary format, introduces the theme of inclusion through a direct account of professional experiences and a life journey marked by challenges and limitations that, in some cases, can become opportunities for growth, redemption, and change.

Creating video interviews within the participant group allows students to directly and concretely experience how an interview is structured. This tool helps highlight the stories and firsthand experiences of workers, and by watching these accounts, students can recognize skills and strengths, as well as identify mistakes, revisions, and processes of improvement.

The GearUp! Manifesto serves as a tool for collecting feedback on the Summer School and enables all participants to contribute their perspectives on the theme of Guidance, fostering the development of new project ideas across different contexts.
