What can arise from a white space? If one lets the imagination run free, what appears? When you close your eyes, new worlds can open up, and it is even more beautiful to explore them accompanied by illustrators and creative people who have the gift of making people dream with signs and colors.
Imagination should be nurtured and exercised as if it were a muscle. Together we try to build a small gym of imagination and propose a series of exercises to be able to keep it active. Thanks to a path of ideas, strokes and colors, even the Rondo’s white staircase will become a place of imagination for everyone, the Illustrators’ Staircase!
Starting in November until spring 2024, the project will see illustrators and cartoonists make their talents available to those who want to learn and create through paths and activities dedicated to different targets that will have words and images as the lowest common denominator.
Exercises in Imagination is organized by Rondo dei talenti and Fondazione CRC in collaboration with NOAU | cultural workshop and Illustrada, which have been involved in image education and the promotion and enhancement of cultural, historical, landscape, tourism and economic aspects of the area for years.
All appointments are free of charge after booking on Eventbrite.
The workshops are designed as a path of discovery and in-depth study of picture books in their different forms, but it is possible to attend even a single event/meeting.

Esercizi di Immaginazione (Exercises in Imagination) is a project to educate the eye and creative thinking, which stems from the desire to make the interior staircase of the Rondò dei Talenti a page to be read, thanks to the mastery of an illustrator or illustrator. The choice of artist for this extraordinary endeavor fell on Daniela Tieni, a renowned illustrator who has worked for years for Italian and foreign magazines and publishing houses. Her talent has been recognized with inclusion in the catalog and exhibitions of prestigious events such as the international Ilustrarte competition in the biennial editions of 2016, 2014, 2012, 2009, at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in the editions of 2019, 2017, 2012, and at the American 3X3Magazine No. 13 competition.
Daniela will not tackle this creative journey alone: a number of secondary school classes from the entire province of Cuneo will be involved. The students will question the meaning of the Rondò dei Talenti, exploring the spaces and themes that populate its halls.
Esercizi di Immaginazione, however, is not limited to the ambitious goal of reinventing the scale of the Rondò dei Talenti, but aims to highlight the art of illustration in all its nuances, according to different age groups and roles. The halls of the Rondo will be enlivened by educational meetings, talks, workshops and laboratories, differentiated by topic and target audience. Together we will learn about the different souls of imagination and discover its different forms with meetings dedicated to comics, non-fiction and fiction illustrated books and the silent book. We will discover the gifts and transversality of these tools involving children, teenagers, adults and professionals in the field.
